Evan Geczy

Evan Geczy (b. 1999, Russia) is an installation artist based in Chicago, IL, working across sculpture, collage, and photography. They received their B.F.A. in studio arts from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, 2023. Evan's photos frame strangers in moments of connection at a distance, centering quotidian gestures of desire within queer geographies coded in glossy hypernatural colors. Evan collages fragments of these images into intimate body-sized freeform sculptures with negative space as a manifestation of absence and longing that the viewer can step into.
